You know that old shirt (or other article of clothing) that you have sitting at the top of one of your clothes drawers?
Yup, the same one that you always wear when you want to feel comfortable, when you want to go to the gym, when you wanna go to bed, when you have nothing else to wear…
What does that have to do with your content & copy?
We all want our message to be heard, we all want our potential clients to know we exist... SO we hop on the content train and get get visible! But while we're at it, maybe we should clarify some of the expectations we have of content and visibility?
I don’t want to be a thought leader.
I don’t want to be visible.
I don’t want my face on online ads and Facebook page covers.
What if more online entrepreneurs talked about this? What if we expected it? Would the way we approach our businesses be different?
When I first started out in the online entrepreneurship space, this phrase was E V E R Y W H E R E - like a bad memory or an old t-shirt that you couldn't stand but for some weird reason you didn't want to throw away:
What does that even mean?!?!?!
I was so frustrated because people would say it aaallll the time - over and over again - but there was never any concrete or unique way that would teach me how I - with all the one-of-a-kind-ness that I am - could SPECIFICALLY 'give value.'
Weeellllll, someone finally called us out on it.
You are a multiple 5 or 6 figure business owner and LAUNCH FEAR has paralyzed you. And it’s time to own it. You’ve watched your besties or complete strangers launch, stress out, fail, back out AND succeed. And in all honesty, you’d rather NOT go through that roller-coaster yourself.
So you simply don’t launch.
You keep slaying your 1:1 game and you’ve built up 1, maybe even 2 multi-5 or 6-figure businesses.
BUT YOU KEEP TRADING TIME FOR HOURS.
You’re considering launching or relaunching your new premium service package or course - kudos to you!
Your first thoughts may look something like:
- How do I ensure I hit my income goals?
- What's the simplest, hassle-free way for me to do this successfully?
- I want to do better than the last time I launched, how can I make that happen?
- As a personal brand, how can I make this authentic, and less 'webinar > pitch > sales call'?
Straight-talk? You know you’re in hustle hell.
In case you’re not sure (though you’d be fooling yourself if you weren’t) here’s what that looks like:
Nothing in your business feels aligned or in flow anymore, you’re hustling 24/7 like a chicken with your head cut off, you’re always giving and you don’t have the time to receive or fill yourself up with the things that feed your soul and you’re beginning to wonder ‘what’s the point?’
If you’re an entrepreneur who’s ever launched any offer before, you know the roller-coaster of emotions and concerns about every possible thing that can and, more than likely will, go wrong during a launch:
‘Will they buy it?’
‘Of course they’ll buy it. I’m the authority. I must manifest what I want.’
‘Crap what if they don’t buy it?’
We always hear social media gurus and experts talk about how 'It's not about you.'
'Make it about THEM. Always make it about your ideal client!'
We hear this repeatedly - it's a dead, beaten, resurrected and re-beaten horse by now (lol, not a pretty picture, I know).
You get it, right? It's NOT about you.
BUT IT IS.
